James Davis, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the College of Education, Temple University. His work has focused on gender and schooling outcomes, and the sociology of higher education. He is particularly interested in how gender, race, and class may intersect to affect access and equity in the educational pipeline. James is the co-author of African American Males in School and Society: Policies and Practices for Effective Education and Black Sons to Mothers: Compliments, Critiques, and Challenges for Cultural Workers in Education, which offer an evidence-based approach to attaining greater African American educational achievement.
