Anthony D. Pellegrini, Ph.D., is Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota. His research and teaching are generally concerned with children’s development and include specific interests in children’s play, children's sex segregation, social dominance, and aggression. In line with these interests, Dr. Pellegrini authored The Role of Recess in Children's Development and Education. This book utilizes theories of play in human development toward an advocacy of playful learning in schools.
